Administrators Authentication - Domain
A user can perform the role of Server Administrator if he/she directly (not
through the membership of another group) belongs to the local group on the
Windows 2000 domain specified in the Global Setup application’s Server
Administration Group field. This group must exist on the Windows 2000 domain
and must be a group of type local group (Domain Admins recommended). Use a
Windows 2000 Domain Administration tool like Active Directory Users and
Computers to create a new group (with any name) or you can use an existing
group and then add users (with user accounts on the domain) to the group.
The following sample diagram points out how the authentication of Server
Administrators are handled when chosen to perform authentication on a Windows
2000 domain:
In this scenario Frank and Anne are members of the Domain Admins group on the
Windows 2000 domain. Domain Admins is the name specified in the Server
Administrators Group field in the SurfStatsLive Global Setup application. Note that
Frank and Anne have users accounts on the domain.
